Itinerary

Agadir to Taliouine to Erg Chegaga
This day follows the Agadir to Taliouine to Erg Chegaga section of the itinerary. Begin your private Sahara desert tour from Agadir. We leave Agadir for the saffron village of Taliouine, crossing the Souss plain and stopping in Taroudant, one of Morocco's oldest cities. Its ochre-coloured ramparts, well-preserved fortifications and the patient craftwork of artisans in the souks are sure to captivate you. From there, we continue through Taznakht and the Skoura mountains to Foum Zguid for lunch. From there a piste leads past the dry Lake Iriqui and into the Erg Chigaga dunes — rising over 300 metres along a 40-kilometre crescent. We arrive at the camp before sunset, take an afternoon stroll among the dunes and enjoy dinner and overnight in a desert bivouac.
Erg Chegaga to Zagora to Merzouga
The focus for this stage is Erg Chegaga to Zagora to Merzouga. We travel some 60 kilometres of desert tracks from Zagora to M'Hamid, crossing rocky plains, small dunes and palm oases. After lunch in M'Hamid and a visit to its kasbahs, we return to Zagora and continue via Tansikht, Alnif and Nkob to the Merzouga desert. There you take a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy dinner at the desert camp.
Merzouga desert to Todra to Dades to Ouarzazate
This part of the route is organized around Merzouga desert to Todra to Dades to Ouarzazate. After breakfast we ride the camels back from the dunes and set off by 4x4 towards Ouarzazate, crossing the Todra Gorges and Boumalne in the Dadès Valley — the valley of the rose festival. The road of the "thousand kasbahs" then leads us between the High Atlas and Anti Atlas through Kelaat M'Gouna and Skoura. You have time to explore town in the afternoon. Overnight stay in a kasbah with dinner.
Ouarzazate to Atlas Mountains to Marrakech to Agadir
The Ouarzazate to Atlas Mountains to Marrakech to Agadir stage keeps the route moving at the planned pace. We cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass and the scenic road through the High Atlas to Marrakech, stopping along the way to visit the kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the late afternoon a guided walk through the historic medina brings us to Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where musicians, storytellers and snake charmers gather at sunset — one of the most atmospheric places in the country. After this guided tour we transfer you back to Agadir and drop you off at your accommodation.
